Introduction

Hi all,

Finally have it all upload and ready for votes.

This is ONLY for internal use, see below for all of our leadership program applicants, as it is so difficult to send via email with loads of attached, I had created this for all of our convenience, you can comment, suggest, provide opinions at the comment box with your name, or as anonymous, but I suggest we use our names as this is internal only.

The marking system is simple. Each of the CG member can have a vote, and i will count all the vote later on and publish. Sorry it took sometime to finally put it on as some of the applicants are not using word files format, they used PDF so i need to re-type the whole thing so that i can upload for this.

You can simply view each applicants, or by country (by simply click labels at the side).

The dead line for votes are by Friday 29th of April, so that i can inform the successful applicants by first week of May, and we are planning for our first training sometime in June.

Thanks

Note from the coordinator

Note from the coordinator,

Designated seats for each country

· Important, first when we are designing the proposal, we designed participants from each country of GMR countries (so the total number is 2 x 6 = 12 ppts)

Death line for voting and marking

· End of April, will inform the successful applicants by the first week of May and the first training is planning sometime in June.

Application received

· Sad thing is that we still DO NOT get anyone applies from Laos, even we give a called several times to positive Network coordinator. I just call them again today, their final statement is they gonna have someone selected from MSM network, and send the CV (not the application)

· We only got one from Thailand (after all the begging phone calls and encouragement)

· One from Cambodia

· One from Vietnam at the beginning, then PSN transfer one of thei participant who is clearly stated as HIV positive in the application and not selected for their program.

· Luckily we got 9 applicants from China, and this is because we went to China for a training (which we are doing the access to treatment research for MSM in China) and got a very good chance to explain them about our program and encourage to apply.

Barrier

· One major challenge for them that I found out from the interviews is English language limitation.

Adjustment

· So I get back to donor and revisit our budget to fund for translators (successful) and to juggle around the participation from each country, this mean we will have more ppts from China among designated 12 ppts for the whole program over two years as China is the most applications (partial succeed as they agree to have more ppts from China but at least one from each country)

Possible Late Breaker

  • Thailand and Laos will possible submit some more people, we have been calling and encouraging. Just want them to have equal chances regardless of language barrier.

Initial process and personal challenges

· Some of the participants I have called them up for some phone interview, for instance like some ppts from China, some I even did face to face interview whenever I have a chance, this include China participants, Myanmar, and Thailand.

· I found this whole process very challenging, personally for me. I had to go through a lot from collecting application, encouraging them to apply by phone calls, emails, face to face.

· Again the process for posting them into a blog, for viewing process for CG and marking.

· Translation of some application into English, re-typing them into word format so that I can up load onto the site.

· And in the mean time coordinate for China (un-planned) research, this is also another reason we have to delay the leadership program a bit.

· Processing of finding potential consultants, drafting ToRs for them, concept notes of program, etc.

But finally I am very happy to have this on site and for the CG review. (What a relief….. a BIG sigh huuuuuuuu) Please take into consideration for these factors when you are voting for applicants.

Thanks
