I am easy-going, confident, enthusiastic, mature, responsible and hard working with full team spirit and group loyalty. I have got certain language competence and am good at interpersonal communication. I’m convinced that most beautiful life is filled with meaningful work.

I have been working for Kunming Colorful Sky Team since this May. I’m mainly responsible for PITC, which is covering psychological support to those who have got positive result in primary HIV test at any departments except VCT. Of course, I come across a lot of arduous conditions at my work. For instance, I have trouble in coordination with hospital doctors, the family of infected patients, and even some family members of infected people who do not want to try understanding what HIV is. Mentioning HIV makes these guys scared. Nevertheless, being a professional staff, I should have timely reaction of psychological counseling to those family members so as to change their ideas from objection, discrimination, giving-up at the beginning to the releasing from scary and discrimination and accept the reality in the end via case-by-case patient and detailed explanation and persuasion on the basis of my learned HIV-related knowledge and psychological skills. The intention of my job is to lead those HIV infected guys out of the shadows with accurate, positive lives.

I have additional work towards MSM at spare time with relevant jobs such as dispatching condoms with correct usage instructions and other related knowledge. Work locations are mostly gathering places for these certain targets. For example, bathrooms, bars, parks, public toilets, etc. At the moment I deliver condoms to them, most of them would ask me some questions regarding sexually transmitted diseases and AIDS. Some expresses the thinking to find BFs due to their loneliness.

At work, I always hold the idea learning strengths from my colleagues and reviewing any inadequacies so as to have better work for HIV infected community.

I had a love for four years after I knew my homo identity in 2004. At that time I had very simple mind to live together with my love for rest life. In 2008, he died in his glory when he performed his duty. After that, I really didn’t know what to do and totally got lost in my life. In accident, I came into contact with Catholicism and got to know HIV infected group. Also at the same year, I passed counselor examination (level III). Over time, I, as a volunteer, had the opportunity to be exposed to more Gs and MSM groups. I really obtained the fact that their lives are filled with so much pressure. I finally determined standing up for everyone to do more meaningful things. Life is so short, but regardless of any life or work, we’d better look back in our walkings.

Catholic social service centre delivered some professional training and learnings to me. In exchange, I did a lot of work to help nuns on HIV infected persons and organized a series of group activities such as team work, regular follow-up, hospital visits, self-help, etc. Work is hard, but I got smile faces in these infected people, which made the pleasure in my deep heart. Besides, my work in orphanages, I apperceived the hope from their helpless eyes. Keep the promise to promote the precaution against HIV and help those infected groups. Never abandon, give up and discriminate them.

I’m on my way and embark on the journey to future success.

I expect to learn more concerning community building, relevant knowledge of epidemiology and psychological counseling with practices, HIV intervention in order to have more HIV infected people out of the shadows and lead them to the life with right attitude.
