I am the Sunshine Doctor Organization volunteer in Nanjing city of China , and in charge of positive community in our city. Our organization provide services

for more than 200 PLHIV in this city. We are currently partners in programs funded by the Gates Foundation , Sunshine Doctor project, the Global Fund AIDS Program, the alliance fund Program(ITPC)and an EU funded HIV prevention and care program. These programs help us provide better services for local people living with and affected by HIV.

I am the main coordinator of these projects. I have launched volunteer doctor

team who provide service to PLHIV. Now this collective has more than 30 doctors. I am responsible for the work coordination between our organization and the CDC and the Red Cross. I have launched mutual care fund between PLHIV which is used to help inpatients. I also established a solid volunteer team that provides counseling to PLHIV. We established the peer groups, and prepare to set up a skills building workshops for PLHIV in need increasing their chances in the job market.

I am in the run-up to compile a book which could reflect local PLHIV in

difficult life and facing discrimination. This is in the form of an interview. This work is more advantageous to help PLHIV speak their own heart words.

We are regularly pay attention to our team member's life. Remind them take medicine on time. Help them contact professional doctor when they need. We regularly provide condoms and lubricants for the group members. I help some PLHIV realize that they can lead a happy, healthy life like before.

We have our own conversation group, The group is to help us solve common

psychological perplexity. We first have psychological crisis assessment, and in both cases we have an evaluation. When we encounter a PLHIV who have suicidal tendency we will seek help from a mental health specialist. If the psychological crisis are not so serious, I'll determine problem with the person directly and provide specific support based on their questions .I have keep in mind to protect contact person's privacy. I will do my best to formulate a clear plan with the person and get their commitment that they want to change their life. Conversation groups concentrate common problems, Everybody proposed own view and try to solve by help each other.

We also have a same problem: What are the best methods to outreach to target

groups, identify potential leaders within those groups, and train them to become effective peer educators? Our way is to strengthen our backbone troop. Help them get a different skills.

I graduated from Chinese famous university----Southeast University, and receive my master's degree. My knowledge, ability and experience help me to become one of the most outstanding young volunteer in Chinese PLHIV community. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in economy which help me to manage NGO

better ,and my Master's degree is in political philosophy which help me able to

realize the meaning of work that I do from the civil society and democratic politics angle. In addition. I am a young gay with hiv . I hope that through my efforts fewer young people get infected with HIV, and more PLHIV receive help, receive drugs and care. My range of activities involving gay community and PLHIV community in my city. I am the first person with HIV who accepts interviews with the media in my city . I have committed to contribute to a social environment without discrimination through the media I established working friendship with gay community volunteers. I push doctors more actively

participate in these activities. I have more than three years of community work experience in gay community and PLHIV community .

I cooperate with the CDC and the Red Cross for a long time. I'm very familiar with their working process and requirements. I know of Chinese situation which help me work better. I was infected with HIV more than two years, I helped more than 200 PLHIV and their loved ones.

My parents are doctors ,they support me to work hard for helping others and

obtaining new life.

I think this training will provide me with the opportunity to share experience. Practical experience in many countries which we do not have in China We need to learn from our friends. Only someone else's experience is not enough, we must combine the national conditions of China I think we can concentrate on

learning how to receive drugs, treatment and in a platform to help PLHIV firstly.

We need some methods to unite the grass-roots organization which work in the same field. Limited resources should to use in the common goals. Concentrated goal is one of our important work.

I strive to establish a broad dialogue platform. Including dialogue between

PLHIV community and others, such as the government, doctors, professors and the general public. Dialogue needs enough patience and wisdom. We can play our wisdom in the dialogue , and find a better way to work.

We need more intelligent and passionate young men to join us. And unite them

to explore new methods of working and thinking at a higher level. Training

should be taught us how to found these young people, and play their specialty. I will continue to serve the local positive community. This requires I work on two levels.
